@Sooner -
I was thinking so many of those same thoughts!
With an unknown, so many "fluid" thoughts and facts, and discoveries.

When misinformation is posted, it gives an opportunity to correct that misinformation. If it's not posted, the misinformed is left to go on believing it.
Speculations is a good thing, it allows for the forming of a plan and a plan prevents panic if what has been speculated comes to pass. The possible looting is an example of an event that may happen so being prepared is prudent.

I respectfully but totally disagree. If I were afraid of spiders and posted that giant spiders were overrunning a small Alabama town so prepare now, I would not be doing myself or anyone else a service. And if everyone did that about their fears, this would not be a forum. It'd be more like a bad dream

And that has been exactly my point from the beginning.

I'm glad we agree about something! lol Neither of us wants bad info floating around. We may not always agree on which info is which, but that is to be expected. Glad we have the fundamentals in common. Elbow bump.

A friend emails you about the huge spiders, it's a friend so you believe it and post it. Others post that it's not true and some live in the area where they are meant to be everywhere. You may still be uneasy but your fear is lessened.
However, suppose you don't post it here and instead believe it, get an exterminator, pay a minor fortune and still can't sleep for fear it won't prevent their return.
