@Mom2Dogs wrote:Good for her...now waiting for the 'elite' in hollywood to follow suit.
@Mom2Dogs The post started as something positive.
Why try to start arguments that, most likely, will turn political as so many threads have here in the last few days and become nasty?

If the Hollywood elite donate a lot of money it will be on the national news. I am doubtful they will do it anonymously either.

And the negative posts take a positive thread in a downward spiral.
For so many it seems things just can't be one without the other. One person/organization/business can't do something good without the response. or lack of, from others being questioned and criticized.
The fact is, we don't know what "others" are doing to help. So how can anyone sit in judgement?
Donate publicly? Donate privately? "Damned if they do, damned if they don't."
(And that's my last word. But thank you, @Oznell for starting this positive thread.)

I've learned it's best not to assume the worst of intentions when a poster writes something I disagree with. I think many in Hollywood have used their platform to make a difference for a cause they care about. I remember the "we are the world" project.
If the Hollywood elite donate a large amount to help the hurricane victims, maybe they do it to set an example so others will give. Dolly sounded like she was going to look for other sources of funding as well. Sounds like those who are suffering in North Carolina need prayers as much as donations.

@Goldengate8361. Walmart may have sent money too but I read they sent 47 tractor trailers filled with supplies.

I haven't heard of any country donating anything - after all the money we give them every single year for what?

It was so heartening, the other day, to see yet another generous private citizen, Dolly Parton, stepping up and pledging $1 million dollars from her own personal funds to the ongoing flood crisis. It's in addition to $1 million from her foundation and businesses. So $2 million in all. And she is determined to find other sources to continue the dollar flow.
A beautiful soul for giving, and sharing hope to those who need it.
It's sad that we give billions of dollars to other countries for war, yet our own people rely on donations and go fund me

For those not aware, Hurricane season lasts until the end of November or longer. So there's that. How did we get here?! No funds for our own victims.

Stop spreading misinformation and lies, @Nana2158.
FEMA has a section on the website to dispute the rumors as they politely call the above:/
