I have been signed up for almost a year and really like it.

However, I was trying to buy a couple gift cards online for an Ebates store and the "active" sign always goes away .....  does Ebates refund for gift cards?

I did, but found Mr Rebates covered more stores that I used.  Get about $100.00 or so back several times a year!

Yes. I used it about 5 minutes ago on an Ulta order and will use it later for Talbots.

I use both Ebates and Mr.Rebates. I always look to see which one offers a higher percentage of the site I want to purchase from. Ebates  sends you a check quarterly, Mr. Rebates you have to request your check. I like having to request the check because I like it to accumulate my refund.

Can you use both on a purchase .... or is it either / or?

I use either Discover Deals or Mr. Rebates.  I take my checks once a year which means they are always substantial.  I love free money.

I use shopathome.com because they offer a 110% guarantee; if you find a better cashback deal, they'll honor it and add 10%. It does mean I have to look at a few other sites to compare but I would do that anyway. Many sites have exclusive coupon codes (such as ebates and coupon cabin) so it pays to look around and then double back to shopathome!
