No. Never have.

Birdie––a modern, personal safety alarm––to help deter an attack. If threatened, activate Birdie's siren and flashing light to create a diversion.
This personal safety device is designed with a deafening 130dB siren (about as loud as a jet engine roaring at about 100 feet) and a strobe light. Birdie is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and can easily be attached to your belt loop, wristlet, shirt loop, or purse. The alarm’s siren can sound for about 40 minutes on new batteries, allowing time for someone to notice that something is wrong and help is needed.
@sunshine45 I'm impressed, where do they sell these?

No, I never have, and I never would, because they give one a false sense of security.
All the perp would have to do is wrestle it away from you, and use it against you. Also, better hope that you are up wind if you do use it, otherwise, the wind can blow the spray right back in to your face.
No, the best thing is to know self defense. Everyone can learn self defense. Even a 95 year old who weighs less than 100 pounds can learn self defense.
Your BEST weapons are your hands, elbows, knees, feet, and most importantly, your voice. Know where and how to strike the attacker.
Those are weapons that can't be taken away from you and used against you.
Mace, pepper spray, stun gun can be.
Don't fool yourself in to thinking that they can't be, because they can.

@hckynut Of course if I had a gun I would carry that instead of the Pepper Spray. And considering the threats I am getting from my ex son-in-law perhaps it's time for me to get a gun, I do know how to use them.![]()

@Anonymous032819 ...Not everyone, as you have said, is capable of using their hands/bodies as self defense, trust me. Which means we will use whatever we can that is available to us. But thanks for your input anyway.

I don't carry pepper spray, an alarm and certainly not a gun.
Even though I can name 6 people off the top of my head, people I knew well, that have been murdered here in the county, I'm not worried enough to carry a "weapon".
One mass shooting was about a mile from my house.
Folks should do what they need to do to feel safe, I don't feel the need.

@Lindsays Grandma Hi, Yes it was. The police were really impressed. I actually gave alarms and pepper spray to everyone that year for Christmas. TY

If you have direct written or recorded evidence of his threats against you take it to law enforcement. Your local police to start with.
I would still carry personal protection. But you're not legally allowed to threaten people with violence or bodily harm, if he's doing that.

I used to carry mace in a handy-dandy little holster thing. Then, one day I saw that mace holster at the bottom of my purse and realized that by the time I unzipped my purse, found it in the bottom, unsnapped its top, aimed it, pushed the button, I'd probably be dead.
Heck, I'd probably been killed while unzipping my purse.
