We live in weird times I do agree.
Disagree. Some people want privacy, a simple life, and control of their lives (to a degree).

Exactly.

Wouldn't you miss libraries, restaurants, movies, a nearby drugstore or a grocery store with fresh food?
How about knowing an ambulance could be at your service within minutes, or MD specialists that could save your life?
I get the lure of the outdoors, our vacations were that when I was a kid. I learned to fish, chop wood, shoot a rifle, all of that, but I wouldn't want it every day.

Also my friend lost her house in Sandy and they were not prepared at all....poor thing...we have tried to help her although we live 3000 miles away.

I didn't see it was removed, sorry. But as for never knowing what would happen, you've still got that when you're off the grid... crazies like the unibomber living nearby, forest fires, dangerous storms, a heart attack that could easily be reversed if only there was a hospital close by.

I think you have internet and I stated that hospital was 25 minutes....I don't think anyone could live off grid forever...I was not talking about off grid...just way out. I wold not miss too many of those things as I have a big garden....movies no. I don't think out neighbors would be like the unibomber ...lol

You never know. If you want to avoid possible dangers, nowhere is safe.

That is very true.....that is why being off grid is crazy......I have to have internet.....and my kitchen!!
