Quietly and with grace, the ladies arrive. Looking pretty as they eat and posing for their photo ops, knowing the Wick's provide and care. The deer are satisfied with their food and sense the kindness of their surroundings. These glimpses of nature surrounds us in calmness and a feeling of what is good .

Ah, here come the Ladies. What a beautiful, smiling group they are & heading directly to your door for the goodies. Something tells me you had another "happy" day seeing part of your devoted deer family enjoying the day in your yard.

MamaWick, do the deer uitter any sound when they open their mouth? If so, what does it sound like?

Although I've seen them infrequently in my yard and in surrounding areas, I've never heard them. Do they squeak, make low growls when they are hungry?

What do you and PapaWick hear on the front lines?

When the bucks call to the does, we don't hear it...must be a frequency only the ladies hear. We have heard them snort, which is a warning call. We have heard the babies call out to their mamas which is sort of a crying out sound.

Thank you, MamaWick. It appears that their gentleness is apparent in their vocalizing, too. No wonder I've never heard anything from them when they are grazing, become startled when they spot me and then flee.

The first and second picture -- the Doe is coming in for the kill. Her mouth is open in anticipation of a carrot. They are such beautiful animals with the white around the eyes, nose, and some white around the throat. MamaWick put out some carrots in the grass and the deer are busy finding them. There is always one deer that leads the way to get that first carrot from MamaWick's hand.
