Won't be long until the antlers start dropping

Re: DEER Thursday 02/01/2024

@MamaWick   What a handsome young buck!  His skin looks like the perfect velvet and so touchable.

Thank you for explaining the shedding of antlers over your posts.  I used to think that the antlers were removed when the deer were no longer alive, and this upset me.  I could never understand why people would decorate with them.  (I won't go into mounted heads. ☹️). But thanks to your information, I can now enjoy the use of antlers as decor.

Still hoping that Starbuck's become one of your collection. 🦌

Beautiful pics on a beautiful day!!!  I wonder if it will be difficult to tell the bucks apart after their antlers fall?

Willow looks sooo relaxed.  Thank you for sharing @MamaWick   I love your pics!  😊💝💕

Your post, MamaWick, is not only a nature trip but educational.  I have learned about the deer including the process of losing their antlers.  Nature is amazing and exciting and this post is a part of nature.
