Great photos as always direct from the Wick Haven, home of kindness and love toward animals, a place of safety and food for the deer who find their way there.  It is always uplifting and a visit to nature through wonderful photos by MamaWick!!!!

I hope the neighbor's dog and the doe bond in a way where neither have any fear of each other.  Sweet Willow White looks alert and at rest always a plus to these posts!  It is a day filled with peace and calm, always welcome.

@MamaWick  Nom nom!  It's brunch at the Wick's.   🥕🥕

How lucky we are to have a front row seat at the beauty of nature!   Thank you!

Is the neighbors' chihuahua a friend of Willow's?   Is he/she a Merle or piebald?  A cutie no matter.  I hope the pup stays safe free running.  One never knows what a bigger animal will do, even in play.  Love how Willow and if I remember correctly, Cricket both have long tethers for safety.

Woofs and hugs to Miss Willow White!  What a welcome to see her face, so adorable!🥰.

Woofs and love to sweet Cricket in heaven.  💕🌈

MamaWick, loved the nibbling deer and the duo eating in tandem.

The doe feels so safe, not even the "intrusion" of the neighbor's dog gives pause. She is genuinely interested and unafraid. Looks like the dog is returning the "look" but seems calm.

Willow looks content and very happy in her serene, lovely world.

The drinking doe look like an exact mirror image; that is quite a shot!

What a beautiful young buck getting ready to enjoy the carrot he so loves!  The neighbor's dog and the deer look as if they are chatting neighbors, so sweet to see animals together, like little ones on a playground!

Willow, you look like you're ready for a little bouncing about, little Diva!Smiley Happy

Thank you for sharing your beautiful, peaceful surroundings!

I would think it will take both the neighbor's dog and the deer some time to get acquainted.  It isn't common to see deer hold their positions when dogs approach.   The deer in our woods know our dogs are confined so they can saunter around and come fairly close to the fences.   Thanks for posting all the lovely pics (and of Willow too).  You are a pleasant part of this board and I appreciate your time and efforts.

@Jk9   After a stand off at the top of the driveway, this was after she chased six deer over a four foot fence and down many railroad tie stairs, she went under the fence, my ten pound terrier chased the six deer down a long, steep driveway, and through the gate, I think the deer dove into the creek across the road, and the next I knew, she came walking up the driveway, so proud of herself, while I had been frantic thinking she could have been kicked to death, or never find her way back home.

@mousiegirl Sounds like my crew and why we had to re-enforce the fence at the ground to hold everybody in.   I can just see your little 10 pounder on the move!

@Jk9   I forgot to say that during the stand off, my dog was crouching low to the ground, the deer just waiting to see her next move, lol.

The deer got in while the gate was open for a short time.  Now that there are Mt. Lions roaming around, I havn't seen any deer for quite a while.
