How old is your modem? And your router? Updating them can make a big difference. Have you contacted the provider and done troubleshooting?

I'm rereading the OP and thinking this could be it, too. Especially since I just said I had to replace my router recently.  No problems at all, since getting the new one

Re: DD Is Working From Home, Oy!!

I can so relate.  This is week #2 for me and I've had a few meltdowns yelling at my ten year old laptop. We didn't have much time to get many supplies and although we know we have to adapt, it's sooooo frustrating.  My printer is out of ink and the Staples that was near me closed up a few months ago.  I guess I'll have to order online. Ugh!

This  internet company hasn't updated their equipment since God was in knee pants.  I've heard they are neck deep in debt.

We might have to look into something else if all this at home stuff is going to last.

It's usually just me at home 5 days a week and I can deal with the lousy thing.

@CrazyKittyLvr2  Why don't you count your blessings instead of complaining? Your daughter is there with you, so you're not facing this all alone, and she's healthy, and working. There are too many who are sick, alone, and/or unemployed. It's an inconvenience right now, but it won't last forever. I feel for you with the every day internet connection problem, though!

I saw on the news earlier, a 25 y/o young man is in induced coma with the virus. His mother was giving an interview.

@on the bay  She works in a law office.  I worked in  one also but retired 5 years ago.

Just listening to all this today and watching her pull her hair out reminded me why I retired.  A lot of pressure regarding deadlines for filings and a whole lot of Tums.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 -

I'd actually thought of lawyers too.

People who are waiting for all kinds of decisions! So yes I can see emergencys in that situation too.

It makes sense. The internet providers are overloaded. Another new "un-normalSmiley Sad

Do you rent your modem and router from your provider, or do you own your own equipment?

if you're renting, you should see if they can provide you with newer devices.

if you own, it may be time for newer devices, as well

@CrazyKittyLvr2

Obviously your post was about the changes in "our daily routines" having her home, I assume.

We are retired but we luckily can go out (no restrictions in our area) thank the Lord because he stopped golfing since guys he plays with are taking a break until this virus thing passes.

he's gone usually 3-5 days/week in afternoons.

Oh boy, today was day #1 he's was home all day - I can't tell you how many "eye rolls" I did ...and stupid things he "complained" about!  I have already planned tomorrow to sit by the pool and read my book!

Too bad nothing wrong with his tv because then I wouldn't hear him "debating" the tv news reporters🙈🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ OR giving me the minute by minute update...ugh

Good luck with day #3!! All of us are certainly going to need lots of patience during these times...🙂
