i went to T.J. this morning before 9 a.m. and it was already unbearable. it is hazey outside and I feel so badly for the homeless and the many people in DC who don't have A/c and have not heard on the news where they can go - usually gov't buildings to stay cool. if they don't do that, we will have deaths for sure in this horrific heat.
tomorrow it is supposed to be worse even. I am lucky not having a tour until Sat. evening and Sunday morning and the great heat will remain through Saturday, so am concerned that we do not have an option/excursion or night tour here on Sa [p.m., which would be a shame.
just went to check on the staff here in my building. they were out spraying the grounds very early in the a.m., but have to sweep still a little bit later. luckily we have in their lunch room ice water for when they need/want it, so i was pleased to hear this.
in times like this, also in snowy times, I am always concerned about the staff, as we are very dependent upon them and think they should be treated in the very best way possible.
how hot is it where you are btw??
