We use this quote in our office---whenever some higher up makes a change that doesn't work, or if Managers are rotated etc etc and the new one is clueless, a  friend and co-worker came up with the idea when she heard Joni Mitchell's song, Big Yellow Taxi played over the MUZAK music in our office.....so now the entire office staff refers to an unpopular change as a "Joni Mitchell".....LOL

I'm a sports fan (especially NFL-Redskins and NBA Spurs) so my nickname reflects the performance of my fav teams which is very "spurty" and due to team performance who else would be a better avatar than Grumpy Cat!!!

The Station...

"We imagine ourselves on a long trip...We are traveling by train...Out the windows we drink in the passing scene of cars on highways, children waving at a crossing...cattle grazing on a hillside...row upon row of corn and wheat, flatlands and valleys, mountains and rolling hillsides, city skylines and village hills.

But uppermost in our minds is the final destination...Once we get there our lives will fit together like a jigsaw puzzle...How restlessly we pace the aisles, damning the minutes for loitering...waiting for the station.

When I reach the station, that will be it!...When I'm 18...When I buy a new car...When I put the last kid through college...When I've paid off the mortgage...When I get a promotion...When I reach the age of retirement....I'll live happily ever after!

Sooner or later we must realize that there is no station, no one place to arrive at once and for all...the true joy of life is the trip...The station is only a dream...It constantly out-distances us...We must stop pacing the aisles and counting the miles.

Instead, we must climb more mountains, eat more ice cream, go barefoot more oftten, swim more rivers, watch more sunsets, laugh more, cry less...Life must be lived as we go along...The station will come soon enough."
