Re: Curious - average age of the QVC customer

@Jesse Ann Yes, I could have and should have been more polite. I can say I know it was wrong and I should be better.   But I get tired of hearing "old biddy" and "I don't want to look old" (well, you sure don't look young no matter what you wear) all the time.

Sometimes I feel the need to dish back a little.  I'm human.  And an old one and fine with being old. But I think it should be called out along with other discriminatory remarks and slurs. It's just as shameful.  Perhaps in a more polite way and I will try.

Re: Curious - average age of the QVC customer

My guess would be that the age range for QVC customer would be 50 to 80+...

Re: Curious - average age of the QVC customer

I've been shopping at the Q about 25 years and I'm 55. I remember when our cable company finally had qvc on, I was really happy because at my job they had quite a few of ladies who shopped here and wore beautiful clothing.

I now only buy blouses because their pants and skirts don't fit my body type. The jeans and pants they sell have too much stretch.

Re: Curious - average age of the QVC customer

Not to derail this thread, but I am always curious by those who mention posters use QVC's board, but aren't regular purchasers of their goods.

If you are a regular purchaser, why don't you muster up some interest by posting pictures and give a mini review of the items you bought--the way this board was many years ago. It was exciting to log in to see what our friends bought and to hear their opinions. And yes they did sway us into buying things we otherwise would not.

Instead we now have posters who state they don't know how to post pictures. Those 2+ years of lockdown and working from home sure presented as a great time to teach yourself how to post a picture.

I think viewership and purchases would increase greatly if this board was a more interactive shopping experience.

What is the average age of the Q customer base? My guess is 70-75 based on the majority of items presented, it seems that most items are geared towards a more "mature" crowd.......

I'm between 55-60 and am starting to feel too young to shop here .... which is really kind of funny LOL ( at least to me )

I'm almost 69 and feel too young to shop here.  Most people my age and older don't want polyester clothes, tons of spandex, gawdy prints, etc.

People of all ages do buy polyester clothes but I sure don't see much of it around here.

Q goes for cheap instead of quality. Polyester is cheap and it's  still polyester no matter what cute name SG or others give it. To me, it's like wearing a plastic bag.

I find it hard to believe that anyone doesn't see young people wearing polyester.  I am not sure how one checks the fabric content  of the clothes worn by people they see.  I never check the labels showing the fabric content of the clothes of people I see.

My understanding is that young people shop stores like H&M, Forever 21, ASOS, Zara, Fashion Nova, Amazon.  It is documented that the majority of the fashions sold by these retailers are made from virgin plastic materials such as polyester, acrylic and nylon.

While there is a push to reduce the huge environmental impact of the fashion industry, the statements made by manufacturers and retailers towards this end are just aspirational and do not represent the majority their actual offerings.

Just google your favorite brand name with the word polyester and look at the results.

FYI, recycled polyester is an environmentally friendly sustainable material.

@wifey2qt

I haven't read the whole thread yet, but any answers you get here will only reflect the ages of the QVC forums poster, not the age of the average QVC customer.

@magicmoodz  I'm going to learn how to post pictures!

I used my *covid years* badly---hangs head in shame.  I didn't learn nuttin!

My fear is that any pics I load from my phone---you'll be able to swipe (do they still use that phrase?) and see all my other pictures.  Many of which are on the beach.....nuff said.

People, in the past, have posted pictures and you could click on them and see other pictures that I'm positive weren't supposed to be shown.  Nothing *earth shatteringly bad*, but still....

As far as the age of Q customers @wifey2qt , I've had grandchildren as little as 7-8 over my shoulder pointing to me what they want.  And my mother, very close to 90, ask me to order things for her.

I did order a pretty sterling/18k hinged cuff in blue topaz for my niece (in her 30's) and she loved it.  So they do sell things for the younger crowd.

I guess you're watching a lot of QVC, which I only tune in once or twice a day or go a week without viewing.  BUT, I am always perusing Q online for things, which is a plus about them having the forums.  I see lots of goodies before I hit the forums.

What items are they selling that you feel are for the 70-75 year old crowd?  @wifey2qt

Re: Curious - average age of the QVC customer

I have been a very regular QVC patron since 1992 but experiences since late October have made me say "no more."  I don't have time in my life to deal with the uncertainty and the delays in shipping, refunding, lack of tracking for returns, and other antics of this QVC world now. Too many other places to shop.

Very curious as to why people who don't shop or haven't shopped QVC for many, many years would post on their forum site? 🤔

Speaking for myself this is the only "social media" site that I go on so it's interesting to me to see what people are talking about.  Have no interest in Facebook, Instagram, etc. etc.

I agree with @kaydee50 - no other social media. Also I will add that although I don't shop Q I like the forums for info on beauty sales, tips etc.  I also like to periodically watch when a beauty show is on. If I like something I can 99% of the time find it cheaper and with free shipping

I am not interested in the clothes at all. To me they are overpriced Kohl's clothes

I assume the average age is retired - 65+
