I used to shop here about 15 years ago. I have some nice things - gold jewelry, clothes, Pilates machine. But I stopped shopping about 5 years ago, maybe an item or two since then. S&H is too high, product quality has gone way down. I occasionally watch certain programs but even the ones I am interested in are no longer watchable due to the frenzied hype of hosts and vendors.

I have learned a lot from reading these forums about other product recommendations. I've had computer problems resolved. I learn about health & fitness, even picked up a couple of recipes although I don't participate in the cooking forum. And just for general amusement.

I used to buy a lot of jewelry from QVC. I came across the boards one time while looking over their website.

I enjoyed the conversations and continued to participate from there. Over the years I have bought less and less due to a variety of reasons:

1. I don't need any more jewelry but have no willpower so I don't watch those shows anymore or participate much on the jewelry board.

2. They don't have many petites in clothing that I like and few shoes that fit me.

3. Their shipping prices are too high

4. The shows seem ""different"" somehow and I don't watch much.

I still shop on Q but not near as much (due to overpricing). I come here simply out of boredom since I no longer work. (I know pathetic huh? lol). But seriously! I actually have learned a lot coming here and there are some very nice people here.

It's been my observation that a lot of the people USED TO shop here, or at least shop here a lot more, when QVC actually sold quality merchandise at competitive prices.

So, people end up here and then things changed a lot on QVC and now they have become as tacky and screamy as they have always been on hsn. Plus, the merchandise here has become, over all, as poor quality as that sold at hsn.

Now, fewer of this customer base shops here but are still at the board and check in from time to time what is being sold. Maybe there is hope that they will go back to selling quality merchandise. You make friends here and that's part of the equation.

Up until about a week or so ago I was a QVC shopper. I have bought much less as time has passed because as others have noted, prices and quality are no longer competitive IMHO. Their blase attitude regarding the hacking of my QVC account and ordering of over $2000 worth of merchandise has made me realize that QVC doesn't give a hoot about their customers.

Forgot to answer the question! I continue to read and participate here mostly because it's become habit to check in and then I can't resist jumping in on occasion.

Even though I shop QVC: Love the tips, viewpoints, etc. Also the beautiful pet threads, with lots of photos. I really do learn a lot here every single day. Smile Where else can we 'talk'/communicate with others clear across the country? So many fantastic posters here, no matter whether we agree or disagree.

I used to have my TV tuned into QVC every waking moment and I bought way too much stuff including stuff I didn't need or even want when I got it home. I stumbled upon the forums one time whenI was browsing the site. I started reading and found I could learn a lot of new stuff from the knowledgeable posters here. When I first started posting, I was just on the beauty board and those girls talked me into buying even more stuff. Stuff that I never even used and a lot of Perricone. I was spending $$$$$'s. So I switched to another channel and other forums like Viewpoints and realized if I didn't watch all the time, I wouldn't buy. But I can't get away from reading and participating in the forums. I still learn a lot but I don't buy much anymore.

So that's why I don't shop but I post and read.

I used to watch and buy much more than I do now but this place has become a hard-to-break habit.
