Credit problems...can you offer advice?

I have posted several times about my niece that has had lot of health problems and other family issues and you all have been supportive and helpful....here I am again asking for advice. She just called me after looking at her credit report because she might need to get a loan for a car (her current car is on its last legs). There are three things on the report that she does not know what they are for. She has been divorced for several years and she is certain they are from her ex-husband. He filed for bankrupty after they divorced she did not. Does anyone know if she is responsible for these debts? She currently is only working part time (she is a teacher) and she gets support for the two kids from the ex but other than that she has no money. Any advice would we welcome, thanks!
