Credit card wait on phone etc. etc.

DH tried 4X in the past week to call the credit card company to get that perfume bill taken off our bill (that we never recieved for the gift). The wait time each time? The message says, One hour wait! DH finally filled out a complaint about the perfume company on line but hasnt heard back in 3 days. If we dont get a reply from the credit card company soon, I may try to sit on the phone for the hour wait with it on speaker so I dont have to hold the phone while waitiing. lol.

On the brightside, the other missing order (the wall hanging) from some place else sent me TWO of the same one. They said the first one was lost, well obviously it wasnt since it was delivered AFTER they re-ordered me a new one. Then a few days later the one came (that they reordered after the first one was missing. lol.) Oh everyone said just keep both. I felt bad, and I am an honest person, so I sent one back and told them I got two of the same.

I also replaced the first gift above with other items. So Im finished and everything is wrapped and ready to go. So,I hope we can get our money back on the first one.Next year I will be watching who I order from. No other issues with 7 (or more) other places we ordered from this year, thankfully!

@Shorty2U - CC Companies usually require that you make your claim in writing.  Instructions are in the fine print on the bill.  Instead of waiting on the phone for hours, compose a letter with the facts and copies of any email receipts, etc. that you have.

What credit card company takes an hour to answer a phone call?  Thank goodness, I have never had that problem with any of mine - yet.  I have had to wait sometimes, but a reasonable amount of time.

And American Express has always resolved my disputes on the phone.  Nothing in writing required.

I often have to deal with very long hold times with my job.  I always get a recording that I can keep my place in line by leaving my name and number and having them call me back.  So if a hold time is 1 hour, they call me back in an hour.

The only place this did not work with was the USPS.  3 times I was given a 45 minute wait time, left my number and never rec'd a call back.

You can file your dispute via phone or online with most CC companies.

You are given a temporary credit and a case number while the CC company investigates.

An hour seems to be a ridiculous time to wait; I wonder if with all the hacking and identity theft if calls are on the rise from customers being charged that way.

Re: Credit card wait on phone etc. etc.

Thank you for the replies. He filled out the form on line for the order we never received but hasn't heard yet. There are no receipts or emails from the seller since we never received the product and they don't answer my emails. I could send my email copies that i sent to the seller, but the credit company form didn't ask for that. The form just asked for a short statement as to what happened when we tried to contact the company to resolve. So DH typed the seller does not answer emails and we never got the product. Anyway I hope it gets resolved. I heard others had issues before and they erased the price from the bill.
