I can't answer to a card that gives points towards travel.

 

We have AE and Visa that are direct issues, not attached to any store or business.

 

I use the points towards the bill or occasionally will buy gift cards with them.

we have both the southwest cc AND the capital one venture card and they both work well for our travel needs. i like that i can also use points for my childrens travel and save them some money.

I have a Marriott Visa and Amex.   Everything we buy usually goes on the Visa so when we travel we get free nights and other perks

 

My daughter traveled to Costa Rica for a month.   We got her the Capital One Venture Card.   No problems at all using it there.
