Re: Credit back on a credit card.

It does take more than 2 days.  However, why don't you call your credit card's Customer Service number and ask them?

Re: Credit back on a credit card.

When the credit is from Q, I usually see it 5-7 days after I receive the email saying the return was processed.

I have another tip for you ladies. If you pay for your purchase with a debit card and you use it as debit, that is considered a cash transaction. So if you have to return the item, you can get a cash refund. Most stores will ask you if you want your card credited, say no

you'll take cash. If you think it takes long to get a refund on your credit card, it takes even longer to get your debit card credited. The amount you paid for the item you bought is credited off your debit before you walk to your car. Sometimes it takes up to two weeks to get it put back on your debit card. The only exception would be if the store has something posted about only  crediting your card. I have only seen this once.

@NEvans2 , I've had the opposite experience.  Whether I use my debit card as a debit card and enter my PIN, or I use it as a credit card, whenever I've made a return, more often than not the credit is in my bank account the next day.  I have also gotten cash back weather I enter a PIN or use my debit as a credit card.

Re: Credit back on a credit card.

@Lipstickdiva  I'm only speaking from my own experience of working in retail for 42 years. When I would scan a customers receipt for a return, if that purchase was paid for as a credit, I could only credit their card. The way the registers were programmed the register would not allow you to issue a cash refund even if you wanted to. I can't speak for smaller or local retailers, but I worked for a national chain and that was their policy. This is also to cut down on retail theft or fraud.
