Credit Card Not Applied For from my bank

I just received a Visa CC from the bank that my husband and  I have a joint checking acct. and debit card.  I did not apply for this card and don't want it.  There was no info as to what the interest rate is or anything else.  I will call them tomorrow and tell them I don't want it.  The Fico score on the paperwork is lower what my scsore was prior to this card being issued.  When you apply for a cc you have to supply personal info.  I am wondering if someone else provided or asked for this card as I didn't.  I am concerned about this.  Has this happened to anyone else?

Was there any information included with the card that you might not have noticed? Or maybe a letter? Banks do not normally send out unsolicited credit cards...they just don't. Are you sure you don't have an older credit card that has expired, and this is a replacement card? If you didn't receive anything included with that card, then definitely contact your bank. Good luck!

Did your husband approve or request the card?  If not, I would be concerned too.  Contact the bank and ask your questions.  Let us know what transpires.

I'd be suspicious, too. No one should receive a credit card without making such a request.

I received a fraud alert two days ago, on a newer credit card that I had never used. Not even once. Charges were for a business in London. Looks like my card number is traveling around the world.

Received letter, a day prior, that an account I have at the bank providing the card was hacked. Major! All personal data. It came with four pages of actions I need to take.

Lots of work starting tomorrow to protect myself. It may be hopeless, since the bank hack was in May and I'm just learning of it. There's only so much you can do.  I'm ripe for serious identity theft.

Perhaps your card is expiring  (the date) and this new card is just a replacement.  Happened to me......

Sounds like an expiring debit card.

If someone else opened the account it wouldn't have gone to your home.

I've also never heard of receiving paperwork with FICO scores with any credit or debit card, but maybe it's a specific bank thing.

I have my credit frozen on all three top credit agencies.  No one can apply for any type of credit until I unfreeze them.

I'd be very concerned about receiving an unapplied-for credit card, even if it was from my own bank.

My credit card was due to expire soon,  but the credit card company notified me asking if I want to change designs on my card before they sent out updated cards.

Banks are prohibited by law from sending unsolicited credit cards.  Has to be a replacement for a forgotten card forgotten about?

Like others have said, banks need your permission to open a credit card account.

The Truth In Lending Act says banks can not issue you a credit card unless it is in response to a request or application you make in writing or orally, to the issuer.

Credit card offers are another thing entirely. I get those all of the time.
