@Mz iMac  I did. The answer was "We were happy to see you using more of your credit limit." I have never signed up for alerts, and with the multiple low charges it wouldn't have been picked up.

But still.......

I check daily online all my accounts which are not as many as there used to be.  I also have LifeLock, but honestly Chase has caught  more fraud than they have.  The only time using a credit card was the one associated with Sams Club.  Might have been the gas station or the actual clerk or someone walking around scanning cards in wallet.  In any case I caught it and stopped all kinds of electronic equipment going everywhere.  I got very upset with the CARD and stopped it and now I do not use their card no matter the awards associate with it.

Fraud everywhere.  I keep getting alerts about Geek Squad and and bills using Paypal.  I check the emails, run my cursor over the sender link and it is always someone not legit.

And just got a request from a friend to use my Amazon account for a gift.

Fraud.

I check my Bank Account twice daily. My Bank (Chase) notifies me if anything goes over $200. Before I buy anything over that amount, I always notify them.

I have the same with my credit card($500)..I notify them if I'm spending a lot on a certain day.

Years ago I was moving around Christmas time..I  called them to tell them that I was on a shopping spree for my moving and Christmas shopping..and to raise it to $2000 for the day.

It was embarrassing but after 3 hrs. of of buying in all kinds of stores..My card was denied at  the mattress store.I called the bank..after I gave them some codes they knew it was me and opened it to charge the mattress..I stopped after that! There was a message from the bank on my answering machine to call them ASAP.

@Jo1313  your Bank was on the Ball. Love that!!

Re: Credit Card Fraud

Also remember if you are travelling to notify your Bank. Even thought the USVI (St.Thomas, St. Croix and St.John) are part of the USA you still have to notify  your Bank and also any area of the world.

I have alerts on my credit and debit cards for $1.  So my phone goes off alot, but it's better than seeing it weeks later when your statement comes in.

You have to protect yourself - your bank is obviously not doing it.

Good luck.

A friend was visiting from St. Thomas (USVI) last month and went shopping and all of a sudden her Card was denied. Of course she had to call and answer a lot of questions because they wanted to be sure she was who she said she was.

Oh boy, wasn't I glad I didn't have to pay for those purchases? YES!!

Thank you all for your support.

Neither Comcast nor Spectrum could ID the accounts using just my credit card number. They said only my bank has the information needed for the investigation.

They also said paying cable bills with stolen credit cards has become very common.

I set some alerts this morning but remain disappointed that such a large change in card activity was not picked up on its own.

It's going to get worse I predict.  A LOT worse.  Please copy bank and card statements on paper and keep copies and be sure to check carefully.

You are the one with the fraudulent charges, probably because someone had your card and your identifying information and they have Cable in your name.  I assume your bank canceled that card and is issuing you a new card and I assume you called Comcast to report the fraud to them.

No one had to have her physical card. Scammers run different card numbers until they come up with a combo that works. As for cable, no one had cable in her name, the thieves used her cc to pay their (or someone else's) cable bill. This is a widespread scam in some areas. They charge a small sum and will use stolen credit card numbers to pay your cable bill.
