I had a real doozy a week ago.
Generally, I don't answer unless the # is entered in my list(land line), however my cat was being groomed and it looked like a local number, so thinking the groomer was calling, I answered. A man with an obvious foreign accent began asking me if I'd like my credit card interest reduced. Of course, I knew this was a scammer, but played along.
I asked which credit card company he worked for and he said, Visa and Master Card. I told him he couldn't work for both, but he insisted that he could. He then proceeded to list store charge cards! We went back and forth for several minutes, I kept telling him he couldn't possibly do whar he claimed and he repeatedly stated he could. I finally said "enough" and was in the process of hanging up. At the last possible second, he said "F U", only he said the F word! Not good.
