There was a post in Moms Forum about a Wedding Situation.
Made me think that we all have crazy stories to tell about our weddings. I'll start.
My dear MIL didn't want to participate in the rehearsal dinner. She wanted the wedding to be a "surprise." She hadn't attended many formal weddings. So the night of the wedding, she arrives with her children and husband, and instead of being escorted in at the proper time, she proceeds into the church and sits about halfway from the back!
The usher came to me as we were lining up and said, "where are the groom's parents?" Someone pointed them out and he escorted them to the front. Very few people knew, and we kept it that way.
(We never had a cross word during my marriage, but I bit my tongue several times!)

Nothing crazy really happened at our wedding.
We had our reception at a beautiful restaurant. There were about 60 people there.

My first wedding we were all at the curch getting dressed and my father came in looking wonderful ... he started apologizing about forgetting his dress shoes and all he had to wear were his muddy work boots. I told him "No problem, daddy, just knock the heavy stuff off and it will be okay." LOL He was trying to "get" me, but i "GOT" him. Then when we left the church my MIL had given everyone oats to throw because she didn't want to pay for rice when she already had plenty of old oats and had no use for rice. Also, we had a very intimate, small wedding and discovered that everyone we didn't invite had been invited to my MIL's house for a surprise reception that we didn't have time to attend. We ran in, changed clothes, attempted to say hi to everyone and ran out the door. His mother was very angry, but it was her own fault for not listening to us in the first place. I got even when I sent him back to her a few years later. LOL

Preds! Those are great stories.
At my wedding it wasn't actually a crazy thing but the flower girl got sick during the service and her mom almost knocked over a lighted aisle candle trying to get to her.
It turned out okay. Poor kid.

Reception was too short at about 45 minutes. It was a very hot August evening and the electricity failed. No lights and no air conditioning.

A friend's son got married in August. It was 105 degrees that day in S. Texas! Nothing could make it comfortable--we just had to bear it. They had a beautiful, sweltering wedding.

This happened at one of my good friend's wedding. For her cake, she had fresh flowers with ribbon streamers floating down all over for the cake topper. Well, of course she had pillar candles on the cake table and, you guessed it, somehow the ribbon streamers caught on fire.

I caught my veil on fire lighting my unity candle!

I burned a hole in the back of mine and didn't notice it until I took it off. We don't know if it was the candle or the smoke that DH had, but luckily it didn't catch, just burned a small hole. It really burned me up, though. All that veil money "up in smoke." LOL
