I know there are serious storms up and down the East Coast with tornadoes and even some deaths.  This has been covered extensively on the national news.

We are having our own weather event in the Southwest.  It's now just past noon in Albuquerque and it's 33° and snowing, when it should be bright, sunny and in the 70s.  Temperature has been going down since early this morning. On the weather maps, it appears to be snowing all the way to Oklahoma.

Yep. Was 77 degrees Saturday and snow and blowing last night with temps in the 20's. But that's Nebraska!

Our weather has been quirky too.....it has been in the 80's with rain and drizzle which is about normal for mid April. Thankfully the severe thunderstorms with hail and 65 mile winds, tornado warnings bypassed us, and we are now enjoying temperatures in the 60's with sunny skies for the next few days, VERY UNUSUAL for mid April....and then 70's after that....

My least favorite spring weather in the midwest is when cold and hot air fast dance together in the atmosphere. Nothing good comes from this.

I was watching QVC when the TV said there was a Tornado warning just a few miles from where I live.

The local weathermen were giving the names of streets maybe 5 miles from my house.

I always take this stuff seriously.  I gather up my medicine, my phone, my ipad, charger, a few cans of cat  food, change of clothes, put them in a container at the top of the stairs.

I don't worry about Bill the cat as he follows me everywhere.  Katie, the cat, I'd never catch her.

I think it's interesting that people always think "it couldn't happen to them".

Oh! But it could!  I've been in so many bad car accidents.  The first one I got out of the car and was walking around thinking, "this is just like what you see on TV".

If I could send you pictures of what my house looked like the last time it was hit by fire, you wouldn't believe it.  It took 5 full months before we could live in it.

That was the company (two men) working on it every week day, with painters, etc coming in too.  We lived in a hotel for 5 months.

So, don't anyone ever think it couldn't happen to them.

Take all of these warnings seriously and go with...."I'll be cautious and take it seriously".

I've never been a person who flips out.  I've always stayed calm and took care of the problem.  But I'm not stupid, I know there are people who know the weather and are smarter than me.

Most of the emergencies I've had, I've been alone at the time.  Maybe that's why I picked up the 'pieces' when my husband died suddenly and kept going.

My daughter in Denver said on Sunday it was beautiful and I think that was the day it was 70 some degrees.  Then yesterday it was in the 30's down to 15 at night.

Here, in Northern Va it's crazy weather here too.  But it is the time of year when this side of the world is going through transition (weather-wise).

@Kachina624  Tornado watch in SE PA until 7PM. It is certainly wacky weather. But typical for April!

It is crazy. It had been warming up until the front moved in yesteday with 30+ mph plus our low was 29°. Had to turn the AC back to heat. LOL!!!

It's still cold today. At least the wind calmed down some. Snow not reaching the ground here in Ok.

Remarkably hot and sunny here.  Engaged in the annual search for the sun glasses the other day.  Pondering looking for a tee today but that might be too daring.

Crazy in the Ohio Valley too. Tied our record high of 85 last week. Today’s high only 47, but the strong NW wind makes it feel even colder.
