Can you use mod podge to glue a photo on a metal bucket? How would you antique a metal bucket?

I want to make my antiquing buddies a little 4 th of July favor. I was thinking of getting a metal bucket...not too big, but just a nice size. I want to decorate the outside of the bucket and then put some fun "American" treats in it, such as the following:

1 bottle of strawberry pop

1 bottle root beer

Box of Boston baked beans

Some kettle corn from Just Popped

A box of cracker jacks

salt water taffy (don't want anything that might melt as it will be in my car trunk for a while)

peanuts

Any ideas?
