@minimalistWF  Unfortunately some work places are lax about mask protocol if any at all. We've had several prisons & jails in our area where there have been high numbers.

Get this.. I had a customer her son & SIL both work in prisons not same, got infected, have recovered but prisoners were not given masks! Jumpsuit & sandals but no mask in a state where we are mask mandate .

Husband workplace boss out with covid never told workers but we found out boss & his wife had it.Workers got curious cause day before he left to stay out he put a mask on ...something that had not been pushing since bosses don't wear them. Now several people in plant out with it.

Can't see contact tracing working effectively here.

I lost a friend to covid.  My brother and a brother-in-law are just recovering from covid.  There is no way I'd let anyone near me if they have been exposed...not even my adult kids.

My friend works at an Amazon warehouse.  Every single day they receive notice that another worker or more on their floor tested positive.  And yet those warehouses are never closed. This happens more places then people realize.

Medical professionals were saying before Thanksgiving that people put way too much faith in a negative test.  Testing negative doesn't make you 100% healthy.  People have tested negative and become ill a day or 2 later.

Please skip Christmas so you can have Christmas next year. I am a RN and deal with Covid patients daily. Even though the Covid person was not in his department, he could have been exposed and carry the virus to your home. My friends grandfather died 3 weeks ago from Covid. A family member brought it into the home and she was wearing a mask but did not know that she had Covid. Her grandmother has Covid and double pneumonia. She is now in a nursing home and has fallen 2 x last week. We don't know if she is going to make it.

Re: Covid On The Job

[ Edited ]

There's a reason this country is in the critical situation it's in right now.  And there was no reason for it to be this way except for peoples' behavior.  Millions of people willing to "take a risk" and gather with loved ones.  Living room spread is responsible right now for 75% of covid cases in my state and probably in the country. Multiply that by millions of family gatherings across the country.

It's a no brainer.  Regardless of your husband's lung disease.

Wear a mask. Social distance. Be part of the solution - not part of the problem.
