Blessings to him until the day comes that he is with his family.
Heartbreakingly, I saw him last night on the news. He burried his wife and two sons back in Syria.

Thanks to the original poster for the reminder. We are so very fortunate in this country and we often (or at least I) take it for granted. I think it would be great if all of us would pray to our higher power that whatever can be done for the refugees from Syria and otehr parts of the world, be done to help them establish a better life.

My Take. We will Never have peace or peace on earth, ever. HOWEVER, we can have Harmony. Harmony between countries and nations with the understanding that not everyone's take on it is exactly the same. It also affords us all the right and privledge to defend our harmony if necessary. Forget peace and peace on earth, it's delusional.

Yes, this is true. Father said he would bury his family and stay by their graves and wait to die. It rips your heart out.
There are no words for this terrible, ongoing tragedy. I would like to know what is going to be done and by whom. The idea of Hungary refusing to let Syrian refugees cross into Germany is appalling. A camp? Really? And what will be the conditions in this so-called camp? Where is the UN in all of this? World leaders? Spiritual leaders? How can we, in the wealthiest country in the world, offer these poor souls some help? There, but for the grace of God, go we.

That was their home so they should be there. So sad that it had to be this way.

I hate to say it, but if our country doesn't get its spending under control we will be facing crises of that magnitude and more. The stability we've enjoyed cannot continue unless we change course.

The Syrians are refugees fleeing a war-what does U.S. spending have to do with a situation like that? Which spending are you referring to?

My dad's father was from Austria.
(my mom was from Germany, BTW)
