Count Your Blessings - Week of May 20th

Never let what you can't do get in the way of what you can do. Lord,
help me to recognize my abilities and focus only on my strengths so that
each day I will get nearer to my goals.

Scripture for the day:

"The greatest among you will be your servant. All who exalt themselves will
be humbled, and all who humble themselves will be exalted." ~Matthew
23:11-12

Meditation for the day:

When trouble comes, we need not say: "Why should this happen to me?"
We can leave ourselves out of the picture. We can think of other people and
their troubles and we can forget about our own. Gradually, we can get away
from ourselves and we can know the consolation of unselfish service to
others. After a while, it will not matter so much what happens to us. It
is not so important any more, except as our experience can be used to help
others who are in the same kind of trouble.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may become more unselfish. I pray that I may not be thrown
off the track by letting the old selfishness creep back into my life.

Hello my friends, well, another week is past - today is Pentecost Sunday - I
mentioned this on the other thread, No one posted there lately but me, but
I hope you all come back this week. Do you wish I did this daily again, or
is this better for you? I only want to do what is best for you all.
Today's blessings are many - starting with our Sunday Mass for Pentecost -
but with Lori spending time with us today was precious. She invited us for
brunch after Mass, then she and her Dad went shopping for plants, and came
back, I made some chicken soup, she stayed and and we had a nice time
together playing Dominoes. It was so much fun!! Thank you, Lord! This was
the spur of the moment!
What are your blessings? Please try to post at least one blessing - to
share with us. Again, praying for you all for your intentions.
