I am sure the CEO of Amex is dusting off his resume!!!!

I have really liked my Costco Am Ex account and am going to miss it. Am Ex seems to be very vigilant with regard to potential consumer fraud. Their customer service is top notch. Their online services are convenient and easy to access and use. Their rebate program is pretty decent.
I've never had a bad experience with my Costco Am Ex. I doubt if I will continue using an Am Ex account once my Costco card is no longer valid as I do not want to open another Am Ex credit account.

madzonie, ITA completely. I will miss the ease and good service, the benefits, all of it. I don't look forward to changing the various accounts I have tied to the card.
I'm hoping that Costco will offer something equal or better.

I use my debit card usually at Costco. MY question is this, I do NOT have the Costco/amex reward card. I have a the amex card from amex period. I sometimes use it at Costco. Will Costco still take amex cards at their store that are not Costco cards? Or, are the planning on using another single card only at their store.
I was watching one of my British TV mysteries, and they were shopping t a Costco in England. Looks the same as here!

If this means other CCs, I'm thrilled. We get great points from an Amazon card.

Does this work?

It does, thank you shoekitty and all
I sure hope they open it up for other cards... and one thing more: I wish you could get a cup of coffee there.

Never had an AmEx card, so I'm not going to be missing anything.
I just use my debit card at Costco, and will continue to do so.
No biggie.

Before they partnered with AMEX, I think Costco had their own credit card that was issued thru some finance company that was also your membership card that you'd flash at the door to get in. I recall that some folks still just had a plain membership card & some had the card that was also a credit card to pay for your Costco purchases.
