Some of Costco is tailored for its location. I have a friend with a condo on Maui and she stops at Costco after the plane lands to stock up on food. She buys fresh sashimi and other local foods there.

hennypenny we thought we'd start with some basics. The stuff you just don't want to lug around every week. TP, paper towels, napkins, trash bags and dog food started us out. Then it was the spice aisle. Since DH is a cook, I had to drag him out of that aisle lol.

For dinner today DH is having steak, tilapia for me, baked sweet potatoes, corn on the cob, and asparagus. Blackberries for dessert. All Costco buys.

We don't have a Costco near us although I've been to one about 70 miles away one time. I didn't really see much difference in it when compared to our Sam's Club, but people who have access to both usually seem to prefer Costco. I wish our area would get one just for the competition factor.

So my story is actually a Sam's story.

We had received our tax refund a couple of years ago and had a flatbed full of stuff, and looking for several more items in particular. Asked a group of associates for some help, and they wanted to know what company we were shopping for (I guess because of the size of the load we were buying, as well as my questions regarding seasonal merchandise and endcapping). When I said it was just a personal purchase for home use, I thought their eyes were going to fall out. You think they'd be used to people buying in bulk even for home use.

croemer funny you should mention a TV. When we walked in we passed a man leaving with what seemed to be the largest TV known to man. If you're looking for a TV to cover your entire wall, you're in luck. Costco has them!

And a couch, new slippers, printer paper and some new lawn furniture!

Cody OMG they had awesome lawn furniture. Right next to the fire pits and really cute sheds. I noticed them while I was stocking up on a pack of a dozen cans of tuna{#emotions_dlg.lol}

I just looked up Costco's in FLA...I will be near two of them in a few weeks...first Ft. Myers (it looks like they have 2 locations) and then Ponce Inlet (near Orlando).

OH. NO.

Do they offer a guest pass?

terrier I asked about the guest pass yesterday. You can get one but you can't purchase anything. DH and I just went ahead and bought a membership. Didn't want to do all that looking without buying.

Lily, since your DH is a cook, he might be interested to know that Costco carries true cinnamon, the Vietnamese or Saigon cinnamon.

It's not that easy to find in stores and it's expensive when you do. Very affordable at Costco.

LOVE sams club (it is much closer to us than costco).....it is one of my most favorite places to shop. i usually take my teenager with me so we can get two carts, especially if i want to get sodas/toilet paper/water/papertowels. i could spend hours in there, especially when they get the holiday items out. the minimum i spend when i go in is $300.....and often it is a lot higher.

i have bought everything from milk to jewelry, toilet paper to handbags, toothpaste to intimates.

anytime we have relatives visiting from overseas they ALWAYS want to go to sams club!
