After falling three times since May, both my shoulders were killing me, they hurt soo much! I had PT on one of them in August which didn't help much, so went to an ortho the other day doctor and we discussed it.
I had been told it hurt a lot, so was kind of scared, for me. It wasn't bad and in a few minutes my shoulder did feel better.
However, I WAS NOT prepared for the excruciating pain when the lidocaine wore off. OMG!!! About one in the morning it just hit me hard. I was bawling like a baby, and didn't know whether to ice it or heat it. Finally, after about 6 hours, I decided to take some Darvocet that had been prescribed in the summer. Luckily, I still had some left.
The doc called me after i left a message for him. He said this wasn't unusual. It's funny, because two people I know had the injection, they were fine, three others had the pain I did. I stayed in bed, on meds, yes, hallucinating, Talk about flowers on the wall!! LOL all that day, and the pain finally started to let up.
One had the injection in her tailbone, OM I cannot imagine this.
But, my shoulder IS SO MUCH better, and I am using it without pain and what a relief! next week, the other shoulder, shudder, but am looking for some relief.
Anyone one else that cares to give their stories about this?
