ETA: If you post from a different account than you order from then you must have given enough info in your post for them to put the two together.
I only order over the phone -- just a preference for me when shopping with QVC. I never have ordered online with them. They must have used my IP address to identify me.
They have your phone number then.I don't think (I could be wrong) they can get your phone number from your IP address.
I did NOT provide my real phone number on the registration to get this nickname. Somehow they were able to determine the info I gave on the registration was bogus AND were able to properly tie me to my QVC account. I can't figure out how they were able to do that if not via some other research on their part. I give them credit for doing it.
Not your home or cell or work? Just made a up a #?

It was a post asking what it was about a review I wrote that caused it to get rejected. I give them a lot of credit for doing what they said they would do and following up with questions posed on the QTalk forums. I never expected to be called by them -- I just figured the other members would look at my review and tell me what the problem was via posts to the thread.
The other thing is that they were able to track me down even though I used a throw away email and other info when setting up this account. So QVC knows exactly who we are and tracks us by our IP address. Given all this I wonder why they allow the trolls? Anyway, the person from corporate said they use a 3rd party to moderate and handle the reviews -- Bazaarvoice.
The person from corporate couldn't have been nicer. She's going to reach out to Bazaarvoice and see what happened if my review doesn't show up in the next 24 hours.
Hmm, interesting. I wonder that as well.

Well it's nice they called you and explained about the reviews.

I agree. The rep could not have been nicer. A very positive experience and renews my faith in QVC.
It's Bazzarvoice who does all the moderation on here.

Yup. I figured if I wanted to contact QVC I would call them. I hate putting in my real phone number in these types of registration forms because I don't want any marketing calls.

If you call in to order, they have your phone number.
Do you have two different member numbers - one to order and one for the boards?
I guess I do. I never copied down the customer number I was given when I registered on here. I sign-in with the email address I gave -- not my real email address either.
The bottom-line is they had to do some detective work to figure out the info I gave was bogus and then to tie this nickname to my real identity. But they were able to do it somehow. Again, I give them credit. They are much more sophisticated than I thought.

i just talked to my sister on the phone and we still can't figure out how QVC made the connection. Very impressive.

That's great Deb! Nice to see they're in touch but weird about how they knew your phone #
