Re: Corn on the cob-how do you store it?

I cook it the day I buy it.

I read that the longer it is stored, the more the sweetness turns to starch.

LOL, we never do get to store corn on the cob. I buy just enough at the store, shuck it there, and never have any left over!

Leave it in the husk and look up the latest microwave video on Youtube, it makes perfect corn every time

yes.

I only buy a 1/2 dozen at a time and cook it the same day.

I just bought some Thursday off my Amish friend, it was picked that morning. It was the little crisp kernels....yum!

I always take the husks off in case there are worms. Then I store in a large Lock-n-Lock.

Corn looses vitamins as soon as it is picked. But I don't think most eat corn for health, they eat it because it is good.

We only buy organic corn as most corn is GMO's and has high levels of pesticides. But that is just our take on it,

Then we husk it, wash it and eat it raw. We only buy white corn.

We have local markets -- local farmers, available freshly picked everyday. I only buy half a dozen and eat within two days. I store in husks. To have really good tasting corn it cannot be stored for long. It gets a bit dry and a bit hard.
