my favorite is THE FRESH MARKET, also rated well.....i love it so much more than wegmans mainly because it is a lot more manageable and i can get in and out of there a lot more quickly.

Fresh Market and Whole Foods is where I shop the most. We are supposed to be getting a Publix closer to my area, we do have one in Cary but it is too much of a drive for me. I don't want to drive 30-45 minutes away to grocery shop. I also go to Costco too quite a bit. I do miss Wegmans though. I haven't been in Walmart for almost 20 yrs so I cannot comment.

I think I saw that Aldis was 17 on the list. My daughters goes shopping there quite a bit and I have to say, I have been pleasantly surprised with them. We have 2 in our area and each store must differ for demographics for each area because I definitely like one quite a bit mroe than the other.

Forgot to add: Fresh Market has the most lovely flowers don't they Sunshine? I do love that store, get produce and I am addicted to the olive bar.

Publix is my number 1. Love it. We don't have Wegmen's in Georgia.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Hi Terrier! I haven't seen you lately so I hope this finds you well.

I read that issue of CR recently. Of course, that store isn't in most of the country so I was not familiar. But my grocery store out here in the West (west coast chain), Raley's, came out #3 so I was glad to see that. Smiley Happy

Thanks for the shout out!

I was in sunny, warm FLA....back to reality (snow today!)...

Glad you had a sunny and lovely vacation. Is it snowing in Buffalo today? That s u c k s. Where in FL did you go?

It's actually going to snow later today and Easter Sunday...good thing the Easter Bunny wears a fur coat!

I was 20-30 minutes south of Daytona - Ponce Inlet...and a few days at Red Sox Training Camp too. Sunny almost every day...and the day that rained was perfect for the Flea Market and grocery shopping. My best friend and I get together every year at this time.

they have the flowers right in the front of the store.....what a way to start your shopping experience. they are gorgeous. every once in a while i pick up an orchid for my mom because she has quite a collection. she knows how to take care of them well. i also like looking at their kitchen and gift items AND their beautiful greeting cards.

love their free coffee samples, free hot spiced cider in the fall/winter, and other "tasting" days. of course behind the deli and prepared foods they will always give you a free sample. i love how the store smells and ours is super clean. i like that it is small enough that i am now friendly with some of the people behind the meat counter and behind the bakery. excellent bread and roll selections. i can spend hours there!

the olive bar is nice.....and i love their roasted garlic.

The closest thing in my region to a top-ranked supermarket is Costco. I do the bulk of my grocery shopping there once a month. If I am ever in the vicinity of a Wegman's I will be sure to check it out.

I LOVE Publix and The Fresh Market! I shop at both when I'm in FL and wish we had both up north. Meijer and D&W just don't compare. Fortunately, an Earth Fare store opened up here just before I went south for a while and I finally got a chance to check them out this week. It's very similar to Whole Foods and The Fresh Market so I see myself doing a lot of my shopping there in the future.

I love Wegmans but the closest one to us is about 40 miles away. PA has a lot of Weis and Giant supermarkets.

Interesting, since people living in he West don't have them, I don't see how they could come to this conclusion. We had Trader Joe's in Hdsn-Vegasand the only time I have even heard of the others is on these forums.
