According to Sky News the counter terrorism unit is treating this as a possible terrorist incident. The timing might have something to do with the upcoming elections. 

Reports are coming in that a suicide bomber may have been the cause of the explosion.

British authorities say it appears to be a suicide bomber with a backpack bomb.  The explosion took place near the box office not inside the venue.

I just heard on Fox a video taken on a dashcam where you could hear a very loud noise so I think the balloon theory may be incorrect.  There are also pictures emerging of the victims being carried out with injuries to their lower extremities.  I have to say I appreciate the coverage this evening on the channels that are covering this as they are not getting over their ski's so to speak and are waiting for more solid information and shying away from speculation.

There is a lot on MSNBC.  Direct communication says at least 20 dead, hundreds injured.

At this point, word is coming in from the UK that they think it was a suicide bomber, but it's early on, they may not be sure.

Hotels are opening their doors to young people who need shelter.

U.K. police are cautious and meticulous, as usual, but apparently authorities there are treating it as a "possible" terror attack.  Unfortunately, 'soft targets" like malls, concerts and sports events are considered prime, for the mere purpose of creating panic, fear and chaos in the hearts and actions of the targeted...

Doctors are reporting injuries look to be fragment grenade, maybe nail. Could also be a pure accidental explosion that would also mimic that. My heart breaks as these are probably young teens. That seems to be her audience.

Cycling through the channels it does appear this was a suicide bomber who struck outside of the venue when kids were leaving the stadium after the concert . . . good grief.

If you have to ask this, you don't understand terrorists/terrorism.

They want us to be afraid (as well as dead) and we westerners treasure and value our young people and our children most. They are the perfect target, but people don't seem to understand that.
