@willomenia I don't think anyone is missing your point. I think we get it. But if you think we are missing your point please explain why you felt the need to be critical a a group of musicians who are planning a benefit concert to help people who have lost so much.

@Puzzle Piece how do you know that? Please let's keep a positive post positive

Count me among those who do not understand "The Point."

It will be held on October 26, 2024 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC. Hope the weather cooperates and that it is a sellout. Also hope it will be televised. May it be only the first of benefit performances for those struggling to get back to a safe and normal existence.
They should just donate, we don't need these musicians playing music so people buy tickets or albums so they look like the heroes.
You may be happy to hear that Taylor Swift has donated 5 million dollars to Feeding America.

The Coneheads from France had a point. Several of them.
Of course they also drank mass quantities of beer.🤔🙄🤣
I would love to attend the concert. I do not care who donates publicly, how much and through what venue. I will ask, however, @willomenia what have you contributed?
What matters is the coming together to help. Period.

Keith Urban and Sheryl Crow have been added to the concert lineup.

I too, don't understand your point.
Seems you are coming from a place of assumptions. I would be shocked if those performing are not also contributing heavily monetarily. That's what most giving people seem to do. They give. They give of their money, they give of their time, they give of their talent. They don't do it for accolades or future sales. They don't need to. These are already successful people. People often use whatever their resources, talents, skills they possess to help.
These type of fundraisers are usually a collaboration among many from different areas contributing their time and craft. Union agreements are worked out where staff, tech, crew, publicity for events are work out and the event and rehearsal are worked for free. Often even the venue is donated.
I don't think a major event to raise funds for such a huge natural disaster with such name recognition attached is a place for cynicism.
