Come on folks, can we PLEASE stop the bickering so this thread doesn't get deleted? I'd really like everyone to see and hopefully participate in making suggestions to improve things.

I already get it, some of you cannot get along regardless of WHAT the topic is.

That's a lot nicer than what I was ready to post.

I'm not bickering...I am simple stating who would want to post where each if your posts have to be approved?

I said

1 - fix the font for posts sent from iPads

2 - Keep the threads for vendor specific categories out of the general community listing so that to read WEN posts, Linea posts, Ripka posts etc you have to go to that forum

3 - Add a delete button to the edit button so we can delete our own posts if we wish

4 - Find a way to indicate precisely WHY a thread is poofed, especially when participants indicate confusion over a reasonable thread disappearing.

5 - would have been to FIX THE RUNTIME ERROR, but it didn't start happening again until AFTER I submitted my suggestions

What do you mean delete your own post? When you start a thread? Otherwise, you can delete your post.

You can "edit" and remove the content, but you cannot delete it.

Yes, I figured removing the content would suffice :-)

That wasn't the suggestion. The suggestion was instead of banning someone, put them on a sort of probation where their posts are moderated and reviewed before being posted. That is very common on most well run forums. It's also very common that newbies posts are actively moderated for a period of time/number of posts.

Yup, someone on their "social team" thought it would be a great way to get to know the members. They even provided a means to post it anonymously if anyone was afraid to post under their nic! A few of the responders asked if this was Jr High.

Kind of makes you wonder if the "social team" posts here, doesn't it?

I've also seen the "approving posts" used on other sites as a temporary supervision for certain posters who've caused trouble/broken rules.

I like the warning option, as well. Mods should give clear warnings to posters and then follow through.

I might be in the minority, but I feel the forum has become over moderated as of late. Nothing interesting is allowed to stand.

oh my gosh. What a terrible suggestion. Things move quickly around here. If you had to wait for a moderator to approve your post it would appear out of sequence when it was eventually posted. This is just too large and fast paced a board for that in my opinion.

Re: Community Page - Share your Top Five Updated

I suggested that they remove the ""last edited"" deal. It just causes more drama.

I think it is ridiculous to suggest that moderators babysit people and check their posts over first. I also think some people who want that feature might be surprised to find themselves subject to such babysitting. Sort of like when the neighborhood watch groups want a policeman on duty to stop speeders. Guess who gets a ticket? Yup. The ones who wanted the policeman.

It sure does make one wonder...about a lot of things.

What kind of a mod would think that's a good idea?
