This started out earlier in the day as a most popular poster disaster. Enough people said it wasn't a good idea and they closed that. Share your top five is now a survey asking for your top five suggestions for how the forums can be improved.

Now's your chance to post the issues like iPad font and such.

thank you for letting us know! I wrote quite a bit to them - this board is poorly moderated and gave them several suggestions to improve the quality here.

I don't think the suggestion of ""approving posts"" is a good idea at all for a variety of reasons.

I said

1 - fix the font for posts sent from iPads

2 - Keep the threads for vendor specific categories out of the general community listing so that to read WEN posts, Linea posts, Ripka posts etc you have to go to that forum

3 - Add a delete button to the edit button so we can delete our own posts if we wish

4 - Find a way to indicate precisely WHY a thread is poofed, especially when participants indicate confusion over a reasonable thread disappearing.

5 - would have been to FIX THE RUNTIME ERROR, but it didn't start happening again until AFTER I submitted my suggestions

great suggestions - however, I went the exact opposite from you on number 3. I don't think any posts should be removed unless they are p0rn or posting another member's persona information here.

I do want the moderators to be more of a presence - I made that suggestion. They should come onto threads and tell folks to get it back on topic. Ban people from threads, not from posting in general. Warn people, give them warning points - tell them exactly what they have done wrong. Posters that are out of hand should have their comments approved until they get back on track.

This is a forum - it can be moderated properly - if they put the effort into it.

I did - in the suggestion forum. I get followed over there too - lol - they can't help themselves!

I think that for posters who have 'issues', instead of banning them, they can have their posts moderated and they must be approved by moderators. Once the poster proves that they can play well with others, they are taken off the moderation status

Well run boards do this. It will cut down on trolldom.

I started it in the Suggestion forum a couple of hours ago. It is telling who followed me over there.

I can imagine that good moderation techniques would be resisted by a few here.

Ah, ok, I understand now. It wasn't a general "everyone" has to have their posts approved, it's someone who has repeatedly violated community guidelines. Yes, that is a common practice on many forums.
