Re: Common household items you DON'T have

We have all those small things like safety pins, sewing supplies, band aides, baking goods etc. We have peroxide too and neosporin. Also I still use comet to clean the bathroom and SOS pads (love both better than newer products).

The only things I can think of that we are missing is larger items. We dont have a food processor, toaster oven, or a wok (does anyone use woks yet?). Oh we dont have a Keurig anymore either. Went through 2 from QVC (they broke) so DH went back to a Hamilton Beach coffee maker! lol.

So I guess we are old fashioned since we have some old fashioned necessities? lol.

Re: Common household items you DON'T have

We only have coffee in the morning so I don't have a Kerug, nor toaster oven, steamer, or breadmaker.  I loved the wok but it won't work on a radient heat cook top.

I do have/use a toaster, can opener, Kitchenade mixer, waffle iron, and for holiday cooking, an electric knife and small mini chopper.

We have everything under the sun in this house.  We just don't remember we have it or cannot find it.

I don't have pens.  I actually buy them all the time, and they disappear into the place where pens go.  I can buy a package of 10 and next week they will be gone.  I wish I knew where.

Re: Common household items you DON'T have

Honestly, I feel like sending all of you care packages stuffed with Band-Aids, pens, and rubber bands. I suspect you may be short on paper clips, too, and I have a huge collection in all kinds of shapes and colors.  I cannot imagine life without pens, a pen and a pad in every room.

I don't have jeans, a pressure cooker, children, a bread maker, a working dishwasher, TV service, newspaper delivery, nail polish, a husband, or a Keurig. I have cats and a Melitta pour-over carafe, and I'm not missing a thing.

Wow I'd go crazy without some of the things you all don't have in your homes! No baking soda, baking powder? Really? How does one bake? No pens, rubber bands, bandaids? I just couldn't function without being prepared for everything.

I think I have everything in my household.., almost.

i could never live without safety pins, sewing notions or baking supplies.

What I am missing is make-up, body/hand lotion, polyester clothing &  bedding ( natural fabrics only) fabric softener and a radio ( except in my car)

if I lived alone, I would not own a TV and a million tools.

@Carmie, I was just thinking about my sewing machine today. I have used it this last week to hem some curtains. It's like riding a bike. You just don't forget.  And, the radio, I think I'd play it for the background noise I use the t.v. for sometimes. I use to love to listen to talk radio when we lived in Colorado. My husband has the tools, so only if all alone would I not have those. Hammer and a wrench and duct tape.

What I don't have is a 2nd car anymore, and we only have 1 cell phone in case of emergency. We do have a landline.

@noodleann- I'm good here, but thanks LOL.  Really only have 1 rubber band.  I bought some American Express gift cards online to put away for gifts and they came rubberbanded together so that's how we have one.  I honestly don't know what I'd need them for.

We have probably 5 jumbo paper clips.  I had to get some when I was working on my parents estate.  I bought the smallest package I could find and I think we have 5 left.  Don't need more than that.

Things we also don't have- Peroxide, rubbing alcohol, Epsom Salts.  I DO have ointments and stuff like that.

We have pens galore and a magnetic memo pad on the side of the refrigerator.  I also keep, in the kitchen, a small wire bound notebook.  That's where I keep track of my Christmas/gift lists.

Cookie Sheets....I'm not big on sweets and hate baking so I don't make cookies and/or own cookie sheets.

I'm sure there are other items but that was the first thing that popped into my head.

@shoptilyadropagain- we have cookie sheets, but we don't have a loaf pan.  I'm not a big cook/baker at all,  but saw a recipe for cherry bread on Facebook that I thought my husband might like and it looked easy.  I ordered a loaf pan on Amazon yesterday because we don't have one.
