I love commercials that use tried and true songs. Google and Apple come to mind. A commercial I like right now is for Facebook. It plays The Bee Gees To Love Somebody, the best part is it shows dads taking their daughters to a Mets baseball game ( my team). I like how it shows you don't have to just take your sons to games, daughters want to spend quality time with their dad's too. I also saw a commercial for a car company ( don't know which one), that played The Sound Of Silence (love).

Good music causes me to look at a commercial. While I like Whitney Houston, there is a commercial with her singing and some big cartoon lips - that one is senseless to me.

I just saw the Sound of Silence commercial last night.  i like it too.  It is for VW - an electric vehicle - looked to be like one of those retro style VW vans (remember those?) only very modernized.

I like the Suburu commercial with the Barkley's and the little one is going off to obedience school and doesn't want to go, but the Mom dog coax's him into going so he trots off and the other family dogs in the vehicle look so forlorn about the little pup running into his new school.  I think I like any commercial w/animals in it.

I am happy to say that I have finally come to terms that songs that meant so much to me back in the day are being used for commercials now as so many of them are doing such a great job of integrating the original message (but trust me it took me a while to get there).

I usually turn my nose up at movie tie-ins but goodness those for Secret Life of Pets II are just beyond adorable and I could probably watch them on a loop all day.  My current favorite is the one where the big dog is trying to get his team organized to snatch sausages off the top of a fridge and a little furball shows him how to shut off internet access . . . so funny!

Oh @Spurt the one that gets me is when they are dropping their little one off at school.  Even now I am tearing up over it.  It really gets me in the feels as being very shy back in the day I can still remember how that felt.  Great series of commercials capturing family life.  Well done.

If there's an animal in it, particularly a dog, it will get my attention.  My favorites are Subaru's Barkley dog commercials.

I like the one where Mom and Dad Barkley and their 2 kiddos in the back seat are sitting at a red light.  A white shapely Standard Poodle wearing a fancy haircut crosses the street in front of the car catching Mr. Barkley's eye. Mrs. Barkley looks over at him and growls.

Also love Budweiser's Clydesdale ads and its Puppy Love 2014 Super Bowl Commercial.

I've noticed for some time now that "they" are using "oldies" in commercials.  I love it, of course, brings back so many memories but I am curious if it works to capture the target audience for the product.  I doubt if many young folks know the music of the 50's, 60's 70's and 80's.

One of my all time favorites is a commercial for California Cows.  It had cows and ducks in a field.  I would say it is at least 10 years old now.   I have never been able to find it on the internet.

Love all the Barkleys too!
