Husband called Comcast.  Tried to lower our cost.  Only thing they said they could offer is drop the amount of channels to 40 and that would cost $20/month not including fees and taxes.  I really thought (and hoped) we ccould get something.

We have DirectV and they just gave us a $30.00 credit for one year. She said to call back next year to continue it.

@ScrapHappy  - They stopped negotiating with me a couple years ago.  I also have to call this week and either get a new contract - my current runs out later this month - or cancel.  Have been looking at YouTubeTV and may go that route.

@ScrapHappy.  Poster after poster here reports the same result, yet people still call and try.

Pull the plug and start streaming to lower your bill.

@ScrapHappy  Call the "Retention" Dept.

Comcast is not in the business these days to give the customer anything for free. Want a price decrease, then drop internet speed, TV channels etc. Loosing customers, I imagine has made them even worse.

@ScrapHappy    I have to go through this every year with directv.  The initial person will always tell you this, maybe even the first two people.  Keep asking to speak to a supervisor and (knock on wood) it's never failed that I've been able to keep all my channels and get my rate lowered.  I do subscribe to all the movie channels, so this is normally what we go round over, but I've managed to keep all of them as well as get my rate to stay as if I were only signed up for the hbo package.

This will take awhile on the phone, I'm not gonna lie.  You also might have to threaten to leave and tell them the wonderful deals competition is offering.  I always have to remind them how long I've been a customer and that it's not fair only to offer great deals to new ones.

The main thing is ASK FOR A SUPERVISOR.   I hope you're able to get some satisfaction.  I know how bad this can be.  I always dread it myself.😟

I had Verizon and had to call every two years to try to get my bill lowered.  When threaten to leave, they could care less, so I did and now have Roku w/ You Tube Tv and love it.  I get all the channels I want and even can dvr shows.

Well, I don't know about getting a genuine supervisor on the phone.

My former employer dragged me out to the reception desk when someone demanded to talk to the "OWNER".......because I was "older and looked the part"....      (Of course, that was in person, not on the phone.)

Comcast/xfinity is the worst, we are in the process of going the youtube tv route.  We found a replacement for our wifi, we bundled, once we find a replacement for the phone line we need for our alarm we will cancel.

We don't watch many channels so I am not worried about missing them.
