I absolutely love coloring!  Most recently, I've been using vellum coloring books that give the appearance of stained glass when completed.  I've done several different ones, and have cut them and laminated them.  I've stuck them in scattered places on my slider in the kitchen, with the hopes that it will deter the birds from doing body slams against the glass!!!  I love these books, especially mandelas and paisleys.  I don't do the shading, as I'm quite content with the look otherwise.  I don't want it to become too much of a chore!  Right now,  I find it totally relaxing.

Hi Drythe - it was actually Renna who received the good news.  I'll copy her on this.

I have a couple of coloring books.  I have one called "The Enchanted Forest" and another called "Scenes of Paris."

I do them sporadically, like ten or fifteen minutes at a time.  If I'm working around the house and want a break, or if I'm ready to go somewhere and waiting for someone, or if I just want to zone out for a little while.  I also do them a lot while watching tv.

I do feel relaxed when I do them.

I purchased a couple of books recently.

1. Because I always enjoyed coloring, specially with my son.

2. Because I recently had surgery on my carotid artery and thought it would help me kill some time. But I'm having weakness still in my right arm and can't color.

I sure hope I can start again soon.

My favorite book I got at JoAnne's. It's called Enchanted forest. I do highly recommend you invest in a good sharpener.

Happy coloring!

@MaRina

Sorry to hear about your arm weakness.  I hope you'll be back to good health soon.  I just wanted to say that I have the same coloring book - Enchanted Forest and it's so nice - beautiful quality and artwork.  I just completed the picture below of the deer with the birds in his antlers.

Yes, I love this book!  I think the same artist also makes one about the sea, as well.

I take this with me to my school mentoring program, and my "buddy" and I spend time coloring together, as well.  It's a great way to relax and talk.

I also have the sea life one. I'll have to look for the Scenes of Paris one!
