I won't get into politics, but I will say there was a lot of misinformation and hateful rhetoric regarding the mission of PP. People who are unbalanced react in horrific ways. My thoughts go out to the police officer's family and friends, and the two other victims who were killed in cold blood.
I'm waiting for the comments and reactions from those who spread all that misinformation on a national stage.
They are uncharacteristically quiet now.

Terrier,
I share your anger and disgust at those who feel it is their holy duty to target PP clinics, harass the patients and kill doctors. I find them to be as low a criminal as any gang member who commits murder without remorse.
I understand those who disagree with abortion. They are free not to have one. The fact is, though, that it is legal. No amount of proselytizing or protesting changes that.
********** Sad....but true. I think we will pay a heavy price for it. No, let me phrase that a little better.....I think we are paying a heavy price for it.
________________________________________________________________
If you mean the heavy price is the flat-out lawlessness of those who choose to carry out these acts of terrorism against facilites and doctors who perform legal services, then I agree with you.
If you mean the legality of abortion being a heavy price, then again I will remind you. You are free to not have one and to disapprove. You are not free to force that belief on others.
****** I thank you for reminding me that I am not free to force that belief on others just as others are not free to force theirs on me.

Jubilant,
i don't think anyone cares what you believe or wants to change your beliefs. The law is the law.

One side had better start thinking twice about the lies and vitriol they are spreading.
It is only going to get worse before it gets better. (if it ever gets better)

The funny thing is that his mentor, James O'Keefe, HAS been convicted of doctoring tapes (and paid a civil fine to the injured parties - many thousands of dollars) and also breaking and entering a federal office.
Just like a certain guy on the public stage now...the lies and the untruths don't matter at all. The supporters just double down and insist that they are right. Any and all lies are accepted for the "cause."
Any and all lies are accepted for the "cause."
What is particularly frightening is that seemingly intelligent people -- never mind the imbalanced ones -- also believe these lies.

Yes, the vitriol has already killed a respected policeman. It seems the pro life really aren't.

Legal doesn't mean right, or moral, or humane. Many things were legal in Nazi Germany, but how right did that make them. How moral was that?
People who are disgusted by that time period and what happened 'legally', can't seem to apply that to all life.

I love how everyone is jumping to conclusions.
Sure, all this makes for good Talk TV, but as of this nano-second, 1:20pm CST, Sunday.....a motive has not been made.
Everyone (not just this board, but blogs, 'initial' TV, forums) is trying put a political, religious spin on it. Makes for good TV ratings, though.
Yes, I realize an unnamed LE source said he mentioned anti-abortion comments.....but that might not mean anything. And yes, I do realize if it talks like a duck, walks like a duck & sounds like a duck....there's a greater than zero chance it is a duck.....but not necessarily! This guy could just be a crazy dude living in his crazy world doing crazy things...and wanting to kill people......with nothing even remotely related to PP.
Two seconds after I hit 'post', it could be reported he had a PP agenda....I get that. But until then...NO one knows for sure.
But boy, the forums & TV just love to put their right/left, pro/con 'election year' spin on things. SMH.....and this thread is a beautiful testament to that.

mominohio- Your argument is apples to oranges.
The difference is that it IS legal and what the word choice means. No one is forced to use PP abortion services, less than 3% of what the organization does.
Choice means having what you want for breakfast and me not telling you what you MUST have. You may well be a vegan and that's your choice. But legally you can NOT tell me that I must also be a vegan. Choice and to live with those choices.
There is no selling of baby parts either. All investigations have proven that to be false and yet it is still said as though it were the truth. And when tissue is used for research it is only with the woman's permission. That point is critical. It's also something that may offer consolation, if you will, for the difficult decison that was made in the first place. I view it as agreeing to an autopsy in the hopes that may help doctors in the future.

While it may be jumping to conclusions, members of this board aren't the only ones. I've already see folks holding posters saying that "God sent the shooter."
To me that is about as crazy as those in the Westboro Church protesting what they do at funerals.
Yet Westboro is viewed as a fringe element and the others are not. I frankly don't see a difference. Fringe.

another apples and oranges comment.
what went on in Nazi Germany was the result of a fascist dictator making choices for an entire country.
People who are "disgusted" with Roe v. Wade can't seem to understand that their preception about what constitutes "life" doesn't necessarily comport with those that see if differently.
