I don't know who you are referring to but the producer of the fraudulent videos has publicly announced they were fraudulent and stated he never condoned violence.  Damage control.   How could anyone continue to believe in the videos after that?

His quote was on Breitbart - a funder and supporter of his videos.

Too little...too late, IMO. He said that he still has friends who work at PP (whatever that means).

The violence wasn't just one crazy guy in CO. PP offices have been set on fire in 3 states since the bogus videos started coming out. In NY, our state troopers will be guarding the sites starting on Monday.

People are allowed to have their own views but when LIES are continually being knowingly repeated and those LIES inspire violence the goose and gander are both affected.

We're finding out more about the shooter.  Do you think his actions are a combination of mental illness (he was clearly disturbed) and the current rhetoric around his target?

I say yes.  What say you?

Absolutely.

I've always felt that the increasing levels of hate speech all around us is even more frightening because of how it affects those who are mentally unstable.

We need to start being much more careful with the hateful rhetoric in this country.    Stop supporting it and stop spreading it.

I won't get into politics, but I will say there was a lot of misinformation and hateful rhetoric regarding the mission of PP. People who are unbalanced react in horrific ways. My thoughts go out to the police officer's family and friends, and the two other victims who were killed in cold blood.

I'm waiting for the comments and reactions from those who spread all that misinformation on a national stage.

They are uncharacteristically quiet now.

*********  Terrier.....I realize you are passionate about PP and you have suffered loss.  I am sorry for your loss.  I feel you are being more political than you think you are. You may very well be right about, "the baby parts"....but could it be that the next day it could have been isis, or global warming or whatever.... that this man was ranting about?  As others have said he targeted police, too.

Also, I don't rely on those video's one way or another.  People who have worked in abortion clinics....including nurses and doctors have witnessed the murder of fully formed babies way before these video's.  Some could not stomach it and even quit their jobs over it.  This man had no right to do what he did, but please don't tell me you are not using this to further your cause.  I sure as heck am using this post to further mine.  What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Yes, I remember the nurse who "witnessed." She was caught lying and finally admitted it.  And the doctor, also caught lying.  Even the nutters can become nurses.

But here we are, years later, and some people are still passing the lies off as the gospel truth.

First of all, this is a healthcare issue. Since when did women's healthcare become political?

Secondly, if "murders" were being committed, the numerous governors who are anti-choice would have arrested people by now.

So, you agree that this man, and the ones who set clinics on fire, are homegrown terrorists? And instead of supporting ISIS, they were anti-PP???

Terrier,

I share your anger and disgust at those who feel it is their holy duty to target PP clinics, harass the patients and kill doctors.  I find them to be as low a criminal as any gang member who commits murder without remorse.

I understand those who disagree with abortion. They are free not to have one. The fact is, though, that it is legal.  No amount of proselytizing or protesting changes that.

I say yes to the mental illness part.

I'd like a better idea of what you mean by current rhetoric around his target. If by that you mean the most recent big news about what they are doing with the byproduct of their procedures (trying not to get this taken down by using certain words), and calling that rhetoric (defined as "undue use of exaggeration"), then I have issue with your phrasing of the question. I don't believe what has been discovered/reported to be rhetoric, but I do believe that his actions were the result of his mental issues, as well as what has been reported.

Was he justifed or right. No, of course not.

I wonder if there could be any kind of charges against the individual or individuals who produced the phony PP videos?  Even during Friday's attack, I saw a Texas Senator referencing the videos as if they were true, and we still see political candidates referencing them as well.  Now that there has been this attack, I would think that elected officials who continue to reference them should be charged with inciting violence, or perhaps terrrorism?  Just wondering if anyone has any info or thoughts on this?
