I work a job that is a year-to-year contract. I am fortunate that I have 2011 secured. But, beyond this year, I am not certain that my company's sub-contract will continue with the BIG company. So, if I am laid off at the beginning of 2012, I will be eligible to collect SS because I will be 64 in January, 2012. But, I certainly want to collect unemployment benefits, too. Question...Can I collect SS and also collect unemployment? Or, does this vary by state? It would certainly help me for whatever time period is involved to be able to collect both. Thanks!!!
