Good morning, I've done my share of crying this morning after reading the article in People's magazine online and watching his video.  My handle is "Angelmanmom".....Yeppers, our son has Angelman Syndrome and Colin is doing a great thing here!  Many have never heard of AS, however, it is estimated that 1 in 12,000 babies do have it, many are misdiagnosed as having CP or autism.  If anyone is looking for a charity to support, I encourage you to consider the Angelman Foundation.  I am SO proud that God trusted me to be my son's Mom!!!

It’s great what Colin is doing. My daughter has cp and considered extremely impaired. She just turned 26 this past June and completing this year. Her ceremony is August 14th and we will be balling our eyes out. We live in Michigan and fortunately the age is 26 to go to school.

@Poohbear52  Congratulations to your lovely daughter, Poohbear52 Smiley HappyHeart! I bet you're a very proud parent- think of the milestones she's met and how hard she's worked- it's something to be very proud of that she's completing her education this month! I had a childhood friend with a big sister who is non-verbal and has cerebral palsy and I really admired her for always trying her best and finding ways to express herself and challange herself through learning and communication. We lost touch as we went to different schools after kindergarden, but I really commend their single dad for doing everything he could to help his daughter learn and discover all of her abilities.  I'm very happy for you and your daughter- thank you very much for sharing the great news with us Smiley Happy

I work in the developmental disability arena and have a client with Angelmans and he is the sweetest young man.  Severely intellectually challenged and he's just a joy to be with.

I believe a vendor at QVC, Harry Slatkin has a son with severe autism.  He too contributes to and I believe has started a school/foundation for others who are autistic. Good stuff...

Thank you so much! I entered a world I knew almost nothing about.  My advocacy is for all children who face challenges.  Colin nailed it about our fears and concerns.  If you pray, please pray for my Daniel and for my husband and myself to continue to care for him.  Blessings and thank you again.
