Our temps will remain below 0 for at least the next 6 days. That doesn't count windchill.

This is the first winter in a long time that I've been cold. My body temp has been on contant hot flash since menoipause. As gross as it is, I could sweat through a t-shirt when it's -30 degrees. My dr gave me a medication that helps reduce sweat and I actually feel human again. But maybe it's also making me a little cold this year.

Sorry you're going through this rough time.  Rest assured, I don't believe it's lasts forever.  Such a nice relief for us, when it's over though.  Best wishes.

This is our 9th winter in Chicago and I was spoiled because they have not been bad.  This one is!  Too many days with sub zero temps, not including wind chills.  Makes us reconsider getting a second place somewhere warm!

@kaydee50 - I spent the first half of my life in the Chicagoland area.  We're still close so our weather is essentially the same.  This winter has been more cold than snow.  I can remember all the big snowstorms of years gone by though.  There were a few doozies, plus a major ice storm one March in the late 90's that covered everything with a thick coating and brough life to a standstill.  That was a bad one.

The Winter of 24/25 has been the coldest in at least the last 5 years. I can remember when Covid started which was 5 years ago sitting out back in March with just a light jacket

Yes indeed, @Desertdi.  My dad got stranded at work for several days.  The snow came so fast, everyone's cars were buried.  At home, my friends and I had fun playing in it.

It's been a very cold winter in the northeast.  We didn't get much sleep last night as the wind was blowing 50-60 mph and it was loud!   It still a wind advisory today with the same speeds.  We've had many snowstorms too but they have been low in accumulations so fairly manageable.  We may get more on Thursday!   Sheets of ice out there right now, lots of salt has been put down.   Thankful we have not lost power, not yet anyway.
