When you lose some one you L~O~V~E, that Memory of them, becomes a TREASURE.

I agree. Every 09/11 I watch 09/11 stuff on TV.  I feel that it is a way of paying my respects to the hero survivors and those gone.  My tears and anger still overwhelm me. I don't want that to go away.

I couldn't watch.  I remember precisely the moment it happened, and I was working fairly close to the Pentagon.  Anyone with EMS/medic credentials went rushing to the scene.

Eerie.  No planes overhead.  Dulles is fairly close, too.

Relatives were first responders (Arlington PD).  What a sad day.

I was working retail at the time, and a customer came in for some banal something and I couldn't help but remark, "Do you know what just happened?".

Oh dear.

A more productive way to pay respects is by using that day as a day of service in whatever way one is able. This is much more healthy than sitting in/reliving trauma. Just my thoughts.

At the end, they showed photos of the NY firefighters that had been lost...after 20 years, I am still tearfully upset at the evil that did this to our country.

We lost several people close to us on 9/11. Everyone grieves and remembers in their own way.

Just your thoughts? Sure seems like judging to me. It's up to each individual to handle it however they choose. So you do your service, if that's what you do and maybe just let others be.

@ThinkingOutLoud , I understand your point of view.  I am an older person and what I can provide in the form of service is limited, if not, non-existent.
