If none of the below work, I think the shirt is a goner. Worst case it may transfer gunk in subsequent washings.

If none of the other suggestions work find a cute, age and interest appropriate applique and put it over the stain.
I have a top that is adorned by a bumble bee that covers a stain.
If crafty fabric paint can also work to cover a stain.

@Marp while reading @WORKING GAL Post I kept saying applique, applique and when I got to your Post I realize you said the same thing.
Just last week I put a star on a stain on one of my blouses. I have another one now so I'm trying to decide which one I should use.
Boys love trucks and that would be great if nothing else works, except maybe his twin brother might want one also.
