Lately I've been surfing the different sites, looking at winter jackets. This morning I was looking for something in my closet and found a black Land's End jacket much like the ones I've been looking for. I forgot about it because I had gained weight and it was too tight. Well I've lost  weight and I gave it a try, and it fits !! I love the jacket , but even more that I can fit into it again. Have any if you found a " treasure " in you closet that you forgot about ??

Indoor Kitty - I did the same thing! And it was 2 Land's End coats! I bought them on sale about 2 years ago, at the end of the season. And forgot all about them. Sadly, I had even bought other coats after them.

So our next coat closet purge, I will have several coats to donate.

Not me; my closet has become more of a storage area.   I got rid of most of my work clothes after I retired, and have only 20 items total hanging in there, including coats and robes.  I have no need for a lot of clothing or shoes.

OP.....you are lucky you had it tucked away....for a rainy day.....

I've lost so much weight now, and every coat or jacket hanging in my coat closet is way way to big for me now.  They are all going to have to find a new home.  Don't think I'll ever gain all that weight back.

Just purchased the puffer coat (TSV), received it, and love it.  It has gotten very cold here, and am sure it will keep me nice and warm.  Get cold very easily due to cancer treatments.....and think this will do the trick when I go out.

Yes, lots of finds in my own closet.  And I have learned a lesson.  I have even found duplicates. Embarrassing to say the least.  But I am going to cut down on clothing purchases.  Fortunately I buy lots of tops from Walmart and I spend very little.

Re: Closet Shopping

[ Edited ]

@QVCkitty1.......Oh yes, these coats will be going to folks that really do need them.  My neighbor across the hall (1 yr. older than I) will be getting a couple, and then her daughter that lives with her works at a pancake restaurant in the city that has a co-worker that works with needy people.  She will definitely find a good home for the rest of those coats.  Also have some very good shoes that are too loose on me now that I can't wear anymore.....and are taking up valuable space on the shelf i my guest closet and closet in my bedroom.  So little by little I am getting rid of things.  Not replacing everything, but getting the essentials I need to be comfortable and yet look good.

I'm doing ok.....still tire out very easily, and do still have some pain in my back.....but not near as bad as it used to be.  Only take Tylenol ES.....no pain killers any more.

While I don't have a closet to be envied, I found and tried on my fave holiday pumps in cherry red.

They still fit beautifully. Just saved myself $100+ bucks by not buying a replacement pair.
