@golding76 I read that Jessica couldn't be a godparent because the person has to be baptized. Jessica is Jewish accdg to the article I read.

Yep, that would disqualify her, greeneyedlady.  

What is strange is that I have read about some christenings where one of the godparents is Jewish.  True.

The christening of a great-grandchild of the Queen of England, though, can have no fudging or relaxing of strict rules.  

Or, maybe that is why the godparents are a secret.  It's a thought...
