I am just at the border between two sizes in tops in the hip area. When I look at the "Click Here" measurements for tops there is no measurement for hips at the widest point. Instead, there is a measurement for bottom opening of the top. It will say Bottom opening at top of slip or Bottom opening curcumference. My hips are usually quite higher up than where the bottom opening hits me. The bottom opening measurement does not let me know if the top will fit me at the widest point of my hips. I hate it when a top rides up or I can't pull it down all the way. I've been having to buy duplicate sizes of the last couple of items I've bought just so I can see if they will fit in the hips.
At least in bottoms, the hip size at the widest point is given in the "Click Here" measurement.

Wow, I had never looked at it this way. You are so right.
Often they have center back length, and you can guess your hip should be down about 24" or so. But then you are left with upper chest and bottom circumference to play with.
